  • November 12, 2006 is when we went out together for the first time. We bonded over furtively pointing and childishly fantasizing on our friends who were further along in the train ride of sudden sexual gravitation. We would go to stage productions or out to pizza. Other times, we'd stay in to catch a movie. Some night thereafter, we'd finished October Sky. I walked the girl home and she let me in for a personal moment in the dark of the atrium. We embraced and I felt her remaining energy sigh away onto my chest in great torrents. Brushing strands from her eyes, I rested my forehead on hers and gently laid my hand on the small of her back. The wispy remains of her posture gave way and I found myself faintly holding her to my kiss.

That night, I went home enthralled. That night, we slept in the company of wide smiles and towering heart rates.
