  • Our first date ended on the subway. I wanted to be close but I refrained. Partially because I had a cold and was coughing all night (very unsexy) and partially because we smoked weed and I wasn't sure if it was real. He missed his stop and got off at the next stop in a hurry. The goodbye happened in a second. He was gone and I was stoned on a crowded subway all alone. Could everyone tell this was a first date? Probably. Or maybe that was the weed again.
A week later we have another date. We met at the Vanessa's Dumplings in Williamsburg and I ate way too much kimchi. Typical. Then we go to my favorite bar, The Levee. They sell Lone Star and Frito pie and have cheese poofs and Twizzlers on the bar. Dreams really can come true.
It was May, but it was still hot. My neon green shirt was stuck to my back and my signature sweat-stash was making it's appearance. I bet it started with one of those hand grazes that leads to hand stroking that leads to hand holding, which finally leads to kissing. We kissed a lot.
There are a couple other details that I do remember. The kimchi Lone Star combination was not serving me well. I remember smelling his armpit. It was the perfect combination of Old Spice and man sweat. The night ended relatively early, to my relief. Finally, I could rest alone with my kimchi burps and reminisce on how much first kisses rule.
