Today, I am made aware of a client (Annamae) being manipulated to go into a nursing home. She is an adorable, sassy and alert, ninety-five year old woman and someone who is well deserved of truth and respect, she has earned this. Her power of attorney informed her she was becoming short on funds. She now needed to move into a room he found for her at a nearby nursing home or told she will be left to board in an institution type facility for the less financially fortunate elders, sleeping with sixteen strangers by her side. He had her French poodle and best friend, Gigi of 16 years put to sleep, without her consent or knowing. He said he was taking her to be groomed and given appropriate shots, then claimed the vet said that she had an enlarged heart and was not well, conveniently a few days before he had Annamae to be admitted. I found her to be puppy like, with a flair for leftovers and a desire to sleep nights laying tightly by the side of her little Ms. Annamae.
Annamae is a woman who had no children, or any brothers or sisters, a deceased husband of twenty years, and lost her mother at the age of 7. She cried today for her Gigi and asked to go home. Her house has been sold and her funds have been promised to the facility she now resides in.
