  • I arrived to Iquitos yesterday night. Iquitos is in the middle of the Amazonas, a two hour flight northeast of Lima, Peru's capital.

For the next 9 days I will be working with professionals from all around the world and 40 young leaders from native communities of this region.

There was a huge fire yesterday night; people were running around trying to save their things and the firemen got out of water. Everybody in Iquitos is talking about that today. I woke up and took this picture in the street where the fire started, very near to the big Amazonas river.

"Iquitos ciudad segura" means "Iquitos safe city".

I felt safe sleeping near the river, even with a big fire going on.
