  • In the summer of 2008 instinct lead me to a remote island in British Columbia. Its funny thinking back, I had no idea where I was going or why. I just knew I had to go to this island.

I'd roamed half the earth and brought myself to this extraordinary place to fall in love.

Love shone out of me, I couldn’t stop it. It was the warmth of the summer sun, from the inside out. I was content, happy, peaceful. I smiled, I laughed. Walking felt like gliding and the world came alive before my eyes. I saw beauty in everything and words sang out of my mouth.

People would ask me “Why are you so happy?” and I would reply “I’m in love!”. “Who with?” they’d ask. “Myself!” I’d respond and then we'd all laugh, because it was so ridiculously infectious!

And I was. I filled with love from the inside out. Like a flower that had found THE best place to grow. And grow I did. It was beautiful, all encompassing, there for everyone to enjoy. I was experiencing my full potential, my wholeness of being.

The island taught me many things about love and its most important lesson was to teach me that love is in me, always. As it is for each of us. We don't need a partner to shine. And when we have the opportunity to reflect that in another, well, that's just divine.

Take a look, the next time you look love in the eye. Look really closely - who do you see ;o)
