  • The Chair in My Room
It was brought in for you to make my space, your space,
Made you comfortable to hang your hopes, dreams and aspirations,
It was always full, scarfs, dresses and such,
Soon becoming your shelf in my room’s heart.

    The Chair is My Room
It resembles us, the strong steel legs made for support,
It’s a place to sit down, reflect and relax, a calming place for relief,
It seats many things, life’s many challenges in bags, backpacks, jerseys, jeans, dresses and such,
It’s your space in my place, always waiting for you to return to occupy it and fulfill me.

You are The Chair in My Room,
I see you every day, even when you are away,
I hang everything on you, dreams, hopes, fears and thoughts,
You support my joy, you firm up my strength,
You challenge me not to be too comfortable, always asking more of me,
You give me rest, support and power,
As I recline in the comfort of my thoughts of you.
