  • I wonder, will this be that earliest memory that you have? That thing you'll be able to recall... kinda... when you're 25 and we're talking about that first big vacation that we took as a family.

    We've been on trips before, sure, but this is the first one where you knew what was going on. The first one where we stayed in a hotel for more than just a night. And hit the pool every day. Dinner out at a nice restaurant (luckily they had pizza - whew). There were zoos and museums and parks. Well, all zoos to you - the animal zoo, science zoo, train zoo. Judging by how long it took you and your brother to go to bed each night, you were having a blast. There's gotta be something in there that will stick.

    I dunno. Maybe not. Or maybe you'll recall something even earlier than this. My earliest memory was from a trip when I was about your age. Just playing with the window shade on the plane. And then my mom patiently telling me to knock it off after a few minutes. Nothing spectacular, but it's a start. Where will it all start for you?
