  • Mute television, Jazz music, and shiny silverware,
The French man sits, alone, quiet and peaceful.
Round face, young features, but impossible to fool,
At night, he observes through the stained glass, beware.

Loud music, fresh air, two or three glasses of wine,
The Uruguayan dances passionately and vigorously,
On a Moreno's track with his beautiful, elegant woman.

Sitting in the garden, surrounded by the flowers and his Arianna,
    The Turkish man drinks some tea, he could stay here for decades;
Thinking about his schooldays, the far away Consulat.

    Remembering the Favelas, the Embassies,
Olivier travels back to his beloved and lost seas.
    A Father, a husband, a writer,
A serious man, surely strong but not frightening.
    A son, a friend, a philosopher,
A curious man, surely tender but never melting.

The man from earth made his way through the screams,
Imposing to the screamers his wise and delicate speeches.
This man is a framed butterfly but don't you dare thinking,
He is not free, because immobile doesn't mean paralyzed,
And his ears, his eyes are his weapons, his wings.

Olivier taught me how to think, how to reason,
He told me how to love and not to hate,
    Because in-between the loud noises,
There is always one clear, bright an calm horizon.
