  • Before we knew it, a quarter of an inch on the Lika map became five hours. We talked about every little detail of our dreams, drank the water we under prepared ourselves with as we both wanted to reach the valley filled with clear water. We wished a dog could accompany us and out of hot thin air with a slight breeze this beautiful indigo creature appeared. She silently trotted beside us as if she were our compass. I can imagine she giggled since her eyes read calm and knowing where water crept. He was nervous about her and I fell in love. I pretended she was our own as all three of us walked down the middle of the hilly road. We finally reached the water, the kids giggled as she played the center of loving attention. I found myself kissing her nose while taking this photo. It was like I knew her my whole life to never see her again. Later on we walked back, split at a house in a valley. I watched her gallop away to some water hole with a little piece of my heart.
    oh my sweet Olga...
