  • Every now and then I get that "off" day where I just feel like doing absolutely nothing - my running shoes seems like my worst enemy and even getting into the car to go somewhere seems like utter hard work. I'm sure I am not the only person who feels like this from time to time? Not to forget about the little voice in my head, trying to nail me for not wanting to do anything. That little voice that haunts me throughout every hour of a 'lazy' day. I don't know which is worse - the little voice in my head (sounding like my mother scolding me) or not finding the motivation to do whatever it is I need to do.
Every day comes with its own challenges and bad drivers on their cell phones. The challenges are there to make me stronger and wiser but the bad drivers on their cell phones - I still haven't figured out why they are on this planet other than to make me suffer from consistent road rage - why are these idiots even on our roads? (They are putting their own lives and ours in danger!) But let me get back to my lack of motivation on certain days. My alarm starts annoying me around 5.25am most mornings - time for training! Do I get up? Sometimes, yes... Most times, no. I always remind myself there's always 6pm tonight. By the end of a day I feel totally exhausted and even less in the mood to do that workout. Then I start wondering, questioning myself once again - why didn't I get up this morning? Is it really that hard to drag myself out of the house? 6am is often the most beautiful and peaceful time of the day - why not embrace it.
So, the other morning when I did manage to drag myself out of bed, I made this wonderful discovery... It was around 5.45am and the DJ decided to do me a favor (without realizing it of course). He played this amazing song (which is probably old news by now). I Lived by One Republic. Absolutely amazing - the lyrics to this song is just so striking. I found that nothing motivates me more than an inspiring song. I have decided to share my current Playlist when going on that dreaded early AM run. Maybe someone else finds some motivation in one of these songs.
