  • It's a fond memory I recall
It's so good it might not be true

Comes once a year to haunt me
Chases me to the gallows of my own heart

It's the one thing I'd give my whole heart to
And still the only thing I can never truly have

You keep me breathing but not really alive
You gave me the inspiration and a sturdy spine

For all the times we had and for those we never will
The moments locked in my heart will have to do the trick

    I wander in the wilderness
But never detach myself from the everyday mess

I find you at the bottom of my heart
But my words describing you are just the tip of an iceberg

The mind makes its sound choices
And the heart makes its silly mistakes

...for no matter what, the heart wants what it wants

I am who I am without you
Yet nothing if I don't count you

Here's my tribute this unholy day
For I still hold close the sentiment of May!
