  • Not even my husband knew I had a foster sister.

In the early hours of Friday 2nd May 2014, I found her. I lay in my bed unable to sleep and I thought of her as I did for over 21 years.

It was not difficult and I regretted not doing so before.

She was 12 years old when she came to live with us; both she......and her baby. I was 18.

I wept and told her I was sorry my family did not try harder. The fault belonged to neither of us. It was just what it was. The important thing is that my family tried and she never forgot us either.

I would tell her story, but not without her permission first. Right now, we will just celebrate finding each other again.
