  • People say men want women like their mother. That we look for the same qualities as the one that gave us life, care for us and is there every step of the way. All this makes sense, but it's an unfair comparison because my Ma - she's unlike any woman I know.

She's quiet. Calm, and simple. Words that don't describe women I meet. Make the comparison and you'll see human terms mumbling desperately, failing to describe an angel.

Her faith is serene. Like clockwork she reminds me to pray. Her life is a canvas alive with struggles, diffused with deep patience. She tells stories in quiet, soft tones. There's wisdom in those stories, and it's always felt. Never instructed.
