  • I have had strong ties with England ever since I was ten years old, and discovered the music of the Beatles and the Kinks. A year later I went to Grimsby on a fishing trawler with my father, and from that trip I have some of my best childhood memories.

After I grew up I’ve had countless business and holiday visits to Britain, which I have enjoyed very much. Through my work I have met good people, I have been to great concerts, fine football matches and seen many wonderful places and buildings; old churches, pubs, coffee houses, galleries, museums, football grounds and concert halls to name some. But I think the back gardens, along the railroads in the old suburbs, are as English as anything I have seen over there.
