  • Dusty winds bother me

As the wind blows my eyes shut

To lay rest a few sands

To be wiped away like I disrespected someone

    Like I disrespected nature

And see how my eyes water

To lay rest on my lips

    All the salt

And the quiver of my sadness

    Where I cannot believe

    That even the desert

    Cannot make me not cry

    The flow of beautiful water

    The essence of the desert

    To give life

To me as I wipe away the sand

    Where I am alone

    And I apologize to those

    I have offended

Because love is hard to obtain

    And leaving my tears behind

I realize all the pain and hurt

    I have given you

    Is of my own

As I need not the salty

    To gain my life back

    Thus I have to be

    In this desert

    Of tearless sands

    Without redemption

    That I choose
