  • The Dolphins

The four black sharks and one white one swim in the fish tank, up and down, here and there, from one end of the tank to the other.
They never sleep, never seem to rest.
I marvel at them briefly and then look down on the floor.
There are fishes swimming there too, waltzing in rainbow-coloured space, across the marble tiles. They look like dolphins.
Dolphins have spiritual significance they say.
Do they have a message for me?
But no, it’s just a reflection from the tank.
And maybe life is like that.
The real and the imagined sometimes gets churned up.
And what we think we see is a reflection of the truth but not the whole truth.
    Isn’t life like that?
