    the old and new mayors praised and declaimed
    the guv'ner waxed eloquent even poetic and
    the Vice President told us the whole world feels

    our pain

    which afflicts some of us more than others
    even those who were not present when
    thunder struck a shock wave of runners


    that the most intensive manhunt to date
    was about to begin and would sequester us
    in our homes until our finest closed in on the


    one of whom they killed and the brother they
    keep in ignorance of the evidence against him
    lest his lawyers mount a defense preventing


    for Bostonians who don't need/want it and
    who wonder why media talk of nothing else
    but pain and healing and triumph over our


    as though the entire metropolitan area
    suffers from PTSD and requires
    constant reassurance
    without which
    we would be
    adrift and
