  • My name is Rolanda Pictou and I'm from Paq'tnkek First Nation.

I've decided to talk about my grandmother, Annie Mary Francis, due to the fact that she played a big part of my life and inspired me to do home care. She inspired me to help others. I really enjoyed making her day, helping her live an everyday life and make her feel good about herself.

You know, as a kid she would take me to the store and be so playful. She'd sing to me or hold hands and she'd tease me and start skipping or something. Yeah, she was a good person, a really good person. She made you feel so comfortable and she wanted you to know that, and she did let you know that. She was very sweet and that's why I said she inspired me into home care and that's why I do it today.
