  • My name is Doris Marie Googoo. I reside in the Paq'tnkek First Nation.

St. Anne's used to be a big festival. It takes place at our church down in Bayfield. When I was a kid it was fun. We always got to have new clothes. Dress up to go. We'd participate in the event. And then it was a means of getting to see people you'd never seen in a while.

And today, it's still a big thing to me. I do attend yearly, but it's just got smaller and smaller. When we were kids it used to be lots going on for us, like food wise, well we have a potluck right after. We still do it yearly now but it's got smaller, I guess.
