  • My name is Dolores Paul and I am from Paq'tnkek. In the picture, my foster parents are Kiju and Dada. That would be Benny Paul and Mathilda Paul. They're standing outside of St. Anne's Church after mass. Who are they talking to? I don't know who they're talking to, but they're standing outside.

He (Dada) would tell us stories about a squirrel and the rabbit fighting, or some kind of animal out there and they did something wrong and got into trouble. So it was, he'd call "You don't act like the rabbit if you want ...if you want to stay out of trouble, don't do what the rabbit did." Stick with how the squirrel is nice and kind and doesn't steal."

Kiju was comical. Loved to laugh. Loved to joke around. Liked to tease. You know, especially if you did something wrong. And you'd come over and she'd tease you. "I heard you were out, ah, let me see your black eye! I heard you got in a fight. Oh you don't got a black eye, oh the other guy. Oh, must be in bad shape huh?" She'd tease people like that, you know, cause she hears everything. She hears just like, you know. One thing I liked about her is that she said "Always tell the truth".
