  • I wake up every morning, prepare myself a cup of coffee and turn on my computer.
I open Twitter, Facebook, answer some E-mails…
If I’m not in a hurry, I like to read the news. LaPresse first, then LeMonde and finally AristeguiNoticias. The latter gives me chills.

I start to read the headlines carefully, one hand on the mouse, the other covering my face, covering my eyes. I scroll down but I don’t want to see this. Why am I reading this?! Deaths, war, kidnappings, frauds, violations to human rights… Blood, screams, tears.
It’s truth, anything but truth. And it hurts. I close the windows and tabs hoping to forget what I just saw, what I just read.

I used to like to keep myself updated about the current affairs in Mexico, my country, and in Latin America.
Specially while being far away from home...
But today, it makes me cry, it makes me bleed. And I suffer.

First fear, then sadness, later frustration, and finally powerlessness.
It’s there, and I don’t like it. But how can I change it? Can I erase it?
I open a new window and play some happy, cheerful, upbeat music.

Maybe that way I will distract myself.
Maybe that way I will forget all of the suffering.
Maybe that way I will come up with a solution to make everything better.
Maybe that way I will make everything better?
