  • We didn't meet so much as collide. We collided so hard and so fast we were both left irrevocably changed.

I don't mean we collided like cars in the rain, no, it wasn't like than at all, we collided like neutron stars. Neutron stars are so dense that when their gravitational fields pull them toward each other, they collide so violently and with so much energy that gold is produced.

It took me while to realise I'd never be the same after a collision like that. I tried at first, to go back to the way I was before, to believe the things I used about the nature of love and what you need to sustain it.

It's funny how much love doesn't need. It doesn't need us to be together, it doesn't even need us to be on the same continent, and it doesn't even depend on how you feel about me.

    It's just there.
