  • Fourteen hours of sun we had in the whole of January.
Yesterday was cold and wet, today colder and frozen. Pebbles frozen stuck in the asphalt, and a thin layer of frost covering everything.

At 07.43 when passing the parking lot on the way to the subway, I walk by a small, stuffed animal/figure, with rope limbs and once puffy round feet and body. Flattened face down and frozen. Transformed to almost the same murky puddle-grey as everything around it.

It makes me think of real wars, and disasters. It makes me sad. I get down to take its picture, but I have to move out of the way to avoid being run over by a car before I can get the shot I want. I leave it behind and go to work.
