Go the laundry started about 8:30 this morning, almost finished, last load to go in the washer.

Big breakfast, but the way my muscles are feeling, they need it. Tushy and Quadriceps are particularly sore today. To be expected, for sure.

The biggest hurdle this morning was the six dozen homemade chocolate chip cookies with walnuts added. They smelled sooooooo good, fresh out of the oven, and I must admit I succumbed to half a dozen before I walked away. So much for skipping the workout today.

Got started about 2 pm with the stretches, completed all the ab reps (250 total), then spent 20 minutes on the Gazelle. But if you saw my piece this morning, you know I had one more task to accomplish.

For the benefit of all, I have republished this morning's picture with one from about twenty minutes ago. As you can see, there was a bit of snow removed and it did not remove itself.

But the nice part is it didn't phase me at all. No aching muscles, no pain in my lower back, no huffing or puffing or having to pause to take a breath. Just grabbed my shovel, went out to the backyard, then to the front, and cleared the sidewalks. It took about 20 minutes.

The other 20 minutes was getting dressed to do it. No joke, I don't like to be out in the cold, especially when I'm still sweating from the workout. So I went out in full ski gear, from balaclava to goggles to ski cap to ski vest to ski pants and ski jacket and a set of insulated snow boots with my warm leather gloves. I would have worn my snowboarding gloves, but they are just a bit too clumsy to properly hold the shovel. All that on top of the double layer of clothing I put on this morning, complete with thermal underwear.

When I came in, I was asked if it was cold outside. I replied, “I really couldn't tell you”. No lie. I really could not feel anything outside my snow gear. Which, in my opinion, is a good thing.

Lunch today was protein and veggies, a left over pork chop cut up with andouie sausage, a couple of left over Brussels sprouts and some corn. Dinner tonight will be light, probably a nice cup of hot soup and a sandwich on rye bread.

Looking forward to a day off tomorrow. Unless it snows, of course. Back to the weights on Monday for my week two heavies, then two weeks of circuit training. Not even sure if I'll watch the Super Bowl tomorrow. But sometimes it feels good to do nothing at all.

I hope and pray you are all having a blessed and warm day.
