  • Two sets of clothing is required

Thin compression socks then thermal bottoms,
    thick long sleeved t-shirt,
then heavy socks and sweat pants,
    and a short sleeved t-shirt.

And still the bitter cold invades
    every corner of the house,
    pervasive as the tides,

    Slept in this morning,
    huddled underneath the flannel sheets
    and quilted comforter electric
    blanket sandwiched in between.

    Saturday...laundry day...a day of chores

I like to do the towels and rags
    then whites, then lighter colors
    before the darker ones.
    The delicates are always last.

    First breakfast, fried potatoes
    with scrambled eggs and bacon
    washed down with coffee black
to warm the body and the soul.

The mind is still in limbo,
that nether world between the light
    and darkness, the body moves
    robotic memory to chores.

As caffeine strikes, my drug of choice

Awareness rises from the shadowed realm
of sleep still clinging to my thoughts
    and dreams. Idyllic, Elysium nights
with supple, fragrant flesh and passions

primal, satiating lusts within a sea
of intimate caresses, waves of deep, intense
    erotic pleasures...dark haired, emerald eyed,
lips as soft as petals pressed against

    mine, musky odors of arousal,
    sounds discovered as the crest
of motions subtle rush to find
    completion, satisfaction, contentment.

  • There are mornings when only great beauty can express the soul. I humbly present to you the beauty of Placido Domingo singing the Manzoni Requiem, Ingemisco - Enjoy.
