  • Rip Week Day Two

    Slight change of plans led to a brief delay this morning. I wasn't planning on having to shovel snow first thing this morning, but when you own a small dog, well, she can't go potty in 4 inches of fresh snow, even if it is powder.

    So I ate breakfast a bit late, egg substitute instead of eggs and two sausage patties, and one cup of coffee, and decided to wait for it to digest before getting started.

    At 8 am, I did my 20 minutes on the Gazelle while listening to some more Phil Collins. Got my heart rate up, which is the whole point of the matter.

    At 10 am, I did my weight training, changing it up a bit by doing 3 sets of 10 reps and starting with the Chest and Back and working down. Bench Press, Seated Rows, Seated Upright Press, and Standing Bent Over Rows covered my Chest and Back, then on to the shoulders and arms. Shrugs, Bicep Curls with Blaster Bar, Seated Triceps Extensions, Shoulder Flyes, Preacher Curls and Triceps Pull Overs with the cable attachment. Finally to the Legs with Squats, Calf Raises, Seated Leg Extensions, and Quadricep Curls. Once that was done, I made a protein shake with 8 ounces of 2% milk, one scoop of powder and 1 raw egg.

    At noon, it was time for the abdominal workout, 250 repetitions and 30 pushups.

    Just finished lunch, a can of tuna and some carrots and celery. I buy chunk Albacore tuna in water, very tasty, and add a bit of salt to the veggies.

    At 2 pm, it's time for the Total Gym workout, and I like the routine I did yesterday, so I'll probably repeat it. I'll let you know....later.

    It's later, about 7 pm, and the day finished out as planned. I did the same routine as yesterday on the Total Gym, working the legs first, then shoulders, back, biceps, triceps, and finally the chest routine with both presses and pullovers. That was at 2 pm. At 4 pm, I did my last 20 minutes on the Gazelle.

    Dinner tonight was a chicken breast lightly sauteed in olive oil, asparagus, a cup of coffee, and a navel orange. I'm on my 8th cup of water, which will bring be up to my 2 gallons for the day. (Yes, I am frequently in the bathroom).

    Total calories today – 1450

    My body is responding nicely, although a little bloated from all the water. Even with the lemon juice, the bloating will continue until tomorrow night, when I finish the water cycle. Thursday and Friday, I'll limit my water to less than a gallon a day.

    Overall, I am feeling very pumped and very positive about this. And frankly, I am loving the way I look in the mirror right now. Vanity, I've got to watch that.
