  • Rip It Up!

    I've decided to document the Rip as I go, so this will be written in portions throughout the day, rather than waiting until the end of the day to recap the events.

    Woke up this morning at 5:15 am, took Olivia out to the yard and began making preparations to begin the day. At 6 am, I enjoyed my breakfast of 2 fried eggs (cooking spray with canola oil instead of butter) and 2 sausage patties for a total of 300 calories.

    At 7 am, I was on the Gazelle for my first 20 minute session. I'd already finished my first intake water and finished my second before 8:50 am, when I had to leave the house for a final checkup on my nasal surgery last month. I am happy to report all is well, everything is healing nicely and there is no pain.

    I brought my 3rd water portion in with me as I began my weight session for the day. I'd already set up the weights last night to the proper amounts, and performed 2 sets of 15 repetitions of Bicep Curls, Tricep Extensions, Shoulder Flyes, Shrugs, Upright Seated Presses, Seated Rows, Inclined Bench Presses, Standing Bent Over Rows, Squats, Seated Leg Extensions, Calf Raises, and Quadricep Curls.

    The protein shake tasted very good after the exercises, and I am finishing that 3rd water portion as I am typing. I will probably take a breather before noon when I will perform my abdominal workout. Steak is thawing in the sink right now, and I'll eat the tuna for lunch along with a Gala apple.

    So far, I've taken in about 500 calories. No headaches, no weakness, and no ringing in my ears, That's a good sign.

    The ab session went well, 30 Oblique Twists, 40 Floor Crunches, 30 V-Ups, 150 Situps on the exercise ball, and 30 Pushups as a polisher for the chest.

    Lunch was a can of sardines packed in spring water and a Gala apple. Yummy.

    At 2 pm, I did the circuit on the Total Gym, 2 sets of 15 reps for the following: Declined Leg Press, Inclined Shoulder Presses, High Low Rows, Bicep Concentration Curls, Triceps Press Backs, Pullovers, Triceps Press Downs, Chest Presses, and Bicep Curls.

    At 4 pm, I finished up the day's exercises with 20 minutes on the Gazelle. Mr. Collins was kind enough to provide the music today.

    I'm writing this about 5 pm, and am on schedule with the water intake. Looking forward to dinner at 6 pm, with a lean skillet steak and some canned spinach, a cup of yogurt, and a cup of coffee. All totaled, my calories today will be about 1550.

    Surviving the first day is easy. Doing it again tomorrow is the challenge. I know I am going to be sore, but I also know what I want to accomplish. And I am going to accomplish it.
