  • Woman Seeks Help for Light Housekeeping.

A spider, about 2 inches in diameter crossed my kitchen floor. She hauled behind her a chunk of dust; a thin coating clinging to her legs. I took a plastic bowl from the cupboard and placed it over her like a dome. Without moving, she stood under the bowl with her dust, as if to wait. I took a cardstock advertisement for Emma’s Home Cleaning Service from a pile destined for the recycle bin and gently slid the paper under the bowl. Lifting the bowl with paper, I walked outside to release her. I thanked her for her services, and told her to go out and spread the word of the women who rewards reliable help. Back inside, I picked up my Pledge-soaked rag.
