  • My Seattle-born filmmaker friend Erik Hudson and his Vietnamese wife Thao are the most adorable couple coming from two different hugely different cultures and places.

My own sweetheart Charly and I also came from opposite ends of the world, and built a beautiful life and family together. He thinks I am exotic.

Being from Warsaw, Poland, I think he is crazy thinking that, but I guess to him coming from Connecticut suburbia in the late 50' and 60's, I must be.

Thao, on the other hand, is exotic to me, and very much so to Erik. The energy between them flows and sparks constantly.

He randomly met her on a short visit to a friend's family wedding in Ho-Chi-Min. He fell in love at first sight and went after her.

She thought he was crazy. She still does, but a different crazy now: the exciting, breath-taking one that sweeps her off her feet.

Her family didn't approve, at first. Erik stuck it out and they love him now.

Thao is pretty quiet and shy, but anyone can see that they are crazy about each other.

Erik was brought into my life through my art, and is stoking my creativity with his own amazing ideas... I.O.U. Dude!

So here is to Erik and Thao:

To love like yours, that crosses all manmade and geographical boundaries, and makes the world a smaller and a better place.

The first piece that Erik and I did together is here. Enjoy!
