  • Lord, when you allow my patience to be tested,

I will lean on your hand, I will listen to your word.

When all my knowledge comes to nothing,

    when wisdom fails me,

when patience is come to an end,

yet will I trust in You, yet will I seek Your face.

How else should I be tested, Lord?

How else will I know the majesty of Your mercy,

    the glory of Your love.

Without You, Lord, I have nothing,

for I am weak and backsliding, I am consumed with sin.

My heart does not seek after mercy, Lord,

my thoughts do not embrace forgiveness.

In my heart, I have judged, I have lost my way.

Redeem me, Lord, from all I am,

allow the Holy Spirit to consume my flesh,

until there is no more of me,

until my flesh is sanctified to You.

    Remove me from this shell,

and fill it with Your Love.

    Amen.
