  • You were thinking maybe he forgot?

    Not happening. As a matter of fact, I actually feel guilty when I haven't gotten to my workout. This week is going to be especially tasking, since we are also hosting the family Thanksgiving meal. Tomorrow I'll be preparing the 22 pound turkey in advance, so when Thursday arrives, both it and the ham will be ready to slide into the smoker for a few hours to be served hot and tasty. Sandra and Crystal Anne will be busy tomorrow, making the pies and the side dishes and getting everything ready to pop into the oven. We're expecting between 12 and 20 people to show up, so we want to make sure there is plenty for all, including enough for people to take home.

    Yesterday was Arm and Shoulder Day, and because of the afternoon arrival, I had to wait until almost 5 to begin my workout, but begin I did, with an attack that surprised me after the long drive and hauling the baggage and all the other things that have to be done when you've been gone for five days. Crystal Anne looked after the cats and brought in the mail, but there are some things you want to do yourself. After all, it is your house.

    Ab routine to start, then Barbell Curls, Barbell Tricep Extensions, Shoulder Flyes, Shrugs, Cable Curls and Cable Pullovers filled out the exercises, and then ten minutes on the Gazelle to the vibrant, haunting tones of Evanescence.

    Today was almost as busy. An early morning appointment with the Urologist (all is well), a few chores and errands, a 1 pm appointment with my therapist for traction, some grocery shopping for baking needs for the holiday goodies (which I will be sending home with absolutely anyone who wants them), and then some work with the tree stand in preparation for the weekend tradition after Thanksgiving of putting up the tree. Crystal Anne, Jennifer, and Brittni will all be here for that one.

    Today's aerobic exercise didn't start until 6 pm, and ended about 7. All the floor exercises and thirty minutes on the Gazelle to Evanescence and Phil Collins. Sweating profusely after that one, but relaxed and ready to watch Dancing with the Stars to see who wins. I'm hoping it's Jack, but pretty sure Corbin will take it all. When push comes to shove, he has really gone above and beyond in every dance.

    My motivation for exercising even under the most hectic conditions? 192. That's what the scale in the doctor's office said today. Size 34-30 jeans. Large sweaters and shirts (notice the lack of the word “Extra” in front of the word “Large”). When I started this, I weighed 230+.

    Bragging? Yes, a little. But remember what I have said all along and will continue to say. YOU can do this. You can get in shape. I know weights and exercise, so that's what I use. But there are so many tools out there, all you need is to find the one that's right for you.

    All you need is the WILL to do it. And once you have that, there is no stopping you.
