  • Four days alone in Santorini, Greece. Everywhere I looked I saw couples, people laughing and posing for pictures and, real or not, having the most amazing time ever. I was there on my own after a disappointing business trip. Did I mention it was about 97 degrees in the shade?

I was working hard to deny I was miserable.

I wear Ivoire shade make-up. Sitting in the sun was out of the question. So, I forced myself to walk around in the extremely hot weather.

Opposite a cafe, I found this view.

I'm wondering if that moment was possibly more perfect because it was mine alone. What if I had turned to a companion, someone as annoying as, say, my ex-boyfriend, only to hear him bitch about the cell phone reception?
