  • Once upon a time,
    or so they say,
an image was worth a thousand words.

Slippery and unreliable, like a shoal of silver elvers, words.

But put me in the picture?
    Now you got me
    soul and all.
    Kodachromed and polaroid,
    caught and held.
    Forever,
    Aaaaaa men

    Oh, but now,
    look how far we’ve come.
Airbrush me, nip me and tuck away my wobbly bits.
    Enrich the color.
    Saturate the hue.
    Edit, crop and photoshop,
just make sure you get my better side.
    Remember,
    as you do unto me
    so I’ll digitize you

    Once upon a time,
    our shadows followed
    as shadows ought to do.
    Now, we chase our images
    and listen anxiously,,
    Is that the telltale click
    or just your beating heart?
    Either way,
    “Smile for the camera!”
