  • Few years ago, Micha, a french musician, friend of a friend happened to be in Athens for a concert. We had dinner, during which he told this story, which was as striking as the learning he took from it....

"Few years ago, I was touring in Scotland. At some point I found myself in a remote place in the countryside, in the north. What was my surprise when the old lady I met there happened to be from.... Toulon, very close to where I'm from! She was 80 years old, and had been living there for more than 60 years....

One day, when she was 18, she was having a walk in the city. She met this young sailor, just off the boat for a few hours. They started wandering in the city. As the time for him to go back to the ship came close, he asked her to come with him. They ran to her house, where she took a suitcase. On the boat, the captain married them. And there she was, 62 years later, still married to this man."

"A great love, Micha said, is always a moment, a founding moment. It's like honoring this moment, day after day..."
