  • Aerobic day – 30 minutes Gazelle, 60 situps, varied left - center - right on the situp bench, 10 reps each bicep curls and shoulder raises with the resistance bands in slow count.

Concentration is the key, as I have said before, to any successful workout program. You have to think about what you are doing, you have to concentrate on what you want to achieve. I pushed myself today, accelerating my pace from the gentle tempo of Enya to the energetic shouts of AC/DC from the Highway to Hell album. I began to sweat about 3 minutes in and was soaked by the time I was finished. And when I was finished, I felt good. A bit weak, but good.

16 ounces of Cranberry-Pomegranate juice today during the cool down walk in the back yard. Fruit juices are the ideal tool to put back the vitamins you just finished burning out. And besides, they taste good!

I have several left over meals in the fridge for this week, so my only cooking will be breakfast tomorrow. Since it is a pass day (the only day out of seven I don't work out), I think I will indulge in a guilty pleasure and fix myself some sausage gravy with biscuits. Then Olivia and I will probably take a ride over to the dog park to let her run around a bit while I continue my reading and interpretation in Romans.

By the way, one of the comments I received on my last workout entry implied this was easier or more effective because I am male. I respectfully disagree. The exercises I perform can be done by either sex. I have done the “bodybuilder” thing in the past, with good results, but am no longer interested in becoming the next Schwarzenegger. Fitness is not a gender specific thing. Fitness is a lifestyle.

Oh, but you have all that time on your hands. Really? I am as occupied as any person, I maintain a house, a yard, my car, at times my family, and still manage to build a project or two and write something now and again.

If you want it, you'll find the time.
