The webs we weave for ourselves.
This week I had to travel to Omagh for an induction on the new theme for my Poetry In Motion outreach tutoring project this autumn, meet the head teachers of schools I will be visiting and explain my take on facilitating 10-11 year olds to compose poetry.
Secondly I had to make my house childproof for my daughter to visit with my eighteen month old granddaughter. It took me eight days to clear the clutter and make sure no low drawers and cupboards contained anything remotely dangerous.
Most meat eaters start tearing their hair out trying to think what meals they can cook for vegetarian guests. The same goes for us non wheat/vegans.
I had to remember what sort of cheese and bread we should buy and what butter I should choose;how long does cow's milk last in the fridge and what sort of eggs are best.
All was prepared yesterday.
Then my daughter texted me late last night to say that she is too ill to travel this weekend.
