  • I know of a girl whose character stands alone.
She walks the line of sanity, her imagination overgrown.
I can see her now, smiling, feather in her hair.
Spinning a tale of fantasy, quoting Voltaire.

She walks through thunder and tames the light.
A bender of minds, fights the good fight.
A titan of the spirits, a survivor at best.
    A heroine, a confidant, a saint in a dress.

Just a will, some goals, and whole lot of prayer.
Holds a grace about her as she floats through the air.
A gypsy, a sorceress, a force of nature
A healer, a guru, her boundless nomenclature.

Life’s wicked games, they are your true test.
Fight all of your failures with your trusty sword Success.
Seek out the people with whom you resonate.
Keep their presence your present and their future your fate.

With this girl in my mind, I will try to remember
The words she said, they burn like an ember.
“Find time for yourself, and call it mediation.
Read good books, drink good wine, and embrace creation.”

    For Sharon.
