  • Once upon a time it was difficult for me to hear myself.

    It was difficult for me to see myself.

    Fact - I was bigger and louder than other girls.

    But - I also had negative voices all around me asking, "Why can't you act more like a lady?"

    Another voice kept telling me, " I hate the way you dress, the way you talk; I hate you."

    These weren't imaginary voices. They were the voices of the adult women in my life.

    Surrounded by ugliness I couldn't see my beauty.

    Then I re-discovered my voice.

    It turns out it was loud for a reason.

    Because I'm a tough, strong, a warrior woman.

    Who loves you for who you are.

    Being a lady is overrated.
