  • When it comes to passion, I can tell you a lot about it. As a photographer, I've seen a lot of people doing a lot of things in their lives. Many who are not really passionate about any of them. For those poor souls, it's more the quantity of things they do vs. the passion they do them with that's important. Passionless lives make for boring photographic subjects.

It's only the passion that counts. You have to be passionate about something before you will achieve anything. Whatever your choices, if it becomes the most passionate thing you do in your life you will become an expert at it. You will think about it before you retire, you'll dream with it, and it will be in your first thoughts when you awake. Your passion will become your life just as surely as your life will become your passion.

Not many of us are privileged in a financial sense, nor destined to haunt the halls of corporate america or the White House. A few are destined to attend college. Many seem to me destined to live a life physically limited by disability - both real and imagined. Life is just as full of possibilities as it is with limitations. Some I've passed who chose to create shit in their lives were forced live in it. Please don't join this club, the world has plenty of mediocrity to go around.

Passion overcomes all limitations. We all start young just as with certainty we all grow older. We've all made mistakes or errors in judgement. That'll never change. We learn more from failures than our success. If your not failing your not trying and if you're not trying your not passionate about the task at hand. Your not pushing the limits your passion can take you to. You're the only judge, so always forgive yourself, love yourself first, and always do it with passion. If you live a passionate life for yourself, you make a far more interesting photographic subject for me.
