  • A gift once was bestowed on me
    A glimpse into eternity
Knowledge of the beauty on the other side
On the inside, outside, all sides ‘round
  • The gift it eased my troubled mind, then
Soothed my world-weary soul so deep
But then I struggled to remember that sense
It seemed to slip away; must find a way, a path to get back
  • It seemed the gift came with a price
A need to pass it on, to share
With others the thing that I had found
But how, and where, and who, and why – who knew?
  • I struggled for a good long while
Thinking that is what you do
I fought with demons, as battles raged, epic fights I lost
Again and again, I lost and fought and lost and fought
  • The whole time deep inside I knew
What the other side it had looked like
But never before had I had this need, this drive
To pass a message on beyond myself to others
  • Truly a burden to bear it was
    I’d always been about myself
I’d lived to serve my own self needs
Living to serve others was foreign to me
  • The demons were of my own creation
It took awhile to recognize, them as me
My own mind brought them each to me
And likewise could make them go away
  • But first I had to rest the arms
Accept defeat - war was futile
    Surrender into what I knew
And be…just be…for therein lies eternity
