During my day as a Mum my little boy’s noises punctuate my day.
I love all of them,
the good,
the bad,
the quiet
and
the loud.
They are all the favourite noises of my day.
The whimpering cry to come out of the cot first thing in the morning.
The slurp, slurp sucking on the first bottle of milk of the day.
The baby babble, coupled with the pointing finger, when he is trying to let me know what he wants.
The giggle when I race after him in the park as I try to get the fooball from him.
The chomp, chomp of his tiny teeth now making light work of salad, crisps and biscuits.
The slight snore of his breath when he falls asleep in his pram.
The clapping, only just learnt, whenever a lid is successfully placed or a block successfully stacked.
The bang, bang of the impromptu kitchen drum kit of saucepans and wooden spoons.
The splish, splosh of the evening bubbly bath.
The slurp, slurp of the bedtime bottle of milk.
The heaving breathing snore as he falls into a deep sleep.
The click, clack as the baby gate is closed for the night,
letting baby rest for another busy day of noises tomorrow.
