  • A man reaches my age, he is expected to have certain Passions. So what is my passion? What is that which brings me pleasure, that which makes me happy?

Were this Hawkeye speaking, I would bring out a baseball bat in a very De Niro move ala The Untouchables and proclaim "Baseball", although I doubt Pete would proceed to lecture us on the value of teamwork while singling out someone to bash over the head.

Were this Diane, I would expect to see a photograph of family, followed immediately by the latest vegetarian dish she is preparing.

Kiki would enthrall us all with another one of her fascinating drawings and a tale of life.

Clem might play us a tune on the pipes.

But this is me speaking, and I have to tell you, there are so many things which give me pleasure, it is difficult to nail it down to one.

And perhaps that is how it should be. Life brings me pleasure, the fullness of it, the diversity of it, the newness and beginnings of every day and the discoveries I make along the way.

And yes, the love of God and the person of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit who allows me to love all of these people and things.

If there is one thing to bring me pleasure, it is LOVE.

So thank you for loving me, and allowing me to love you.
