  • As I walk the world of the living
    I stumble on my thoughts,
They are full of prejudices, hate, anger and blame

    Why me?

My will is strong but my legs are weak.

As I hold on education, family, faith
    hope and love
I am able to stand for a short precious time
to see clearly what is waiting for me.

    Then I gain strengths.

Today, I made a step forward.

As I walk the world of the living,
    before I step into eternity
I remember those that are not here
Those I left on the side of the trail,
    in river beds,
in abandoned houses in the jungle
    half dead and hopeless

I am grateful for the wind on my face
    The warmth of the Sun
The chill of the rain on my skin

I will walk and walk until there is not life left in these legs.
