  • I petted a little friends belly today. It felt like a giant step forward, that I could do that.
    I guess that's a good thing.

    When the vet had given Coco the lethal injections, and her heart had stopped beating, we were left alone to say goodbye. We cried. I laid my head on Cocos warm body, and Folke laid his head on mine, and we stroke her fur, her ears, her belly and cried. When Cocos body was getting cold, we decided it was time to go. Folke said: "Eh, let's go to the pet store".

    Yesterday, I couldn't even look at another dog, without feeling furious. Today, I could let Shanti comfort me. She licked my eyelids with a tiny tongue.
