    This life-size figure surprised me as I turned a corner in an amusement park in Ulumuqi. Just leaning against the rocks, whistling, cock in hand, for all the world to see.

    Why would you make this thing?

    Why would you put it in a family amusement park?

    And if you are going to go to the trouble of making it with such care, and placing it with such nonchalance in full view, why not clean it every now and then? The mud's not helping at all...
