    She was born that way. Don't feel sorry for her. She doesn't feel sorry for herself.

    We got her from a Dane rescue. They named her Pinball. The name suits her. Nothing slows her down. I saw her run headlong into a tree once. She yelped but never broke her stride.

    That was a long time ago. She knows every tree in the 10 acre park behind our house.

    Every morning and afternoon we walk this field. Sometimes she gets tired of waiting for me to catch up to her and goes home all by herself.
