  • We moved to the country when I was 3…lots of brothers and sisters and kids around.

When I was 5, they wanted me to ride a horse from our house to the neighbors’ house - - which was about a quarter mile away. They saddled up the horse and put me on it. And said, “Hee-yah!” and the horse took off running.

    Its name was Firecracker.

The saddle wasn’t on tight enough. By the time I got to the neighbors’ house, the saddle was pretty much upside down, and I fell off.
