  • Anyone who walked into the room could feel the stress and the tension, not just from the fourth grade students but also from the parents, waiting with anticipation to see how their child would do in the spelling bee.

    This young lady was eliminated in the second round with the word "Yippee," a word she swears she will never forget how to spell. After being eliminated, she had the option of leaving with her parents, but instead wanted to stick around to watch the rest.

    Upon completion of the event, and the young lady in the background of the photo was named the winner, this girl was the only one to walk up to the winner, shake hands and say congratulations.

    After saying this, she returned to her mom to break down a little bit out of disappointment.
