  • Two Chinese philosophers seated on the bank of the Yangtse river are watching fishes swim, when one of the says:
    Look at those two fishes, swimming happily, not a care in the world.
    The other philosopher looks at him sceptically:
    How do you know they are swimming happily? How do you know they haven't a care in the world? You aren't a fish!
    The first philosopher looks back at him and replies:
    How do you know I don't know? You are not ME!
