  • After the interview, he referred to it as a rant.

"I've found people who I ask, 'Well, what do you believe?' And they say, 'Oh, I don't believe in anything' - a lot of this has come from atheists, to be honest, and I ask, 'Why? Why don't you care?' And they're like, I just don't. And honestly, that's something I just can't understand, maybe that's because I was raised as a Christian but even now as I'm questioning Christianity, I can't understand how you can not care because you don't know what comes after death. Like, Christians and probably other religions believe that they'll go to heaven but they've never actually died and seen what comes after. It's just what they believe and atheists believe that you, I guess, rot in the ground. But how can you go through life not caring because you really don't know? Are you willing to take a risk like that? You could be wrong. I could be wrong. I don't even know what I believe in right now. And that's the thing. I want to know what the truth is. Is there some greater purpose I should be living for? And you can't just brush it off as 'I don't know,' or even that, like, you believe what you want to believe.

So I've met some Christians who say, 'I believe everyone will go to Heaven because I can't believe that God, who is merciful and all-loving, would allow people to burn in Hell.' But there is no mention of that in the Bible. So there is absolutely no basis for that in terms of the Christian faith, and they're just believing what they want to believe and I wonder how you can commit to that because there's literally no proof at all. You're just doing that because you're guided by your emotions and those two schools for thought, that I really just want to push away because I feel like that's not enough. It's not enough to not care, not enough to believe what you want to believe.

...How could you not care? That's just something I don't understand."
